FORTISSIMO ACQUIRE GOLDEN LEOPARD WINNER ‘PARQUE VIA’
Hong Kong/Amsterdam, September, 2008 – Fortissimo Films announced it has acquired worldwide sales rights outside Mexico to PARQUE VIA from first time director Enrique Rivero. The film was a big hit at this year’s Locarno International Film Festival, winning the festivals main prize – the Golden Leopard Award and continues to prove very popular on the International festival circuit with the film scheduled to screen at the upcoming Tokyo, London and Vienna International Film Festivals. The deal was agreed between Fortissimo’s Co-Chair Wouter Barendrecht and PARQUE VIA producer Paola Herrera.
On making the announcement Barendrecht commented "PARQUE VIA demonstrates that there continues to be major new talent emerging from Mexico and Latin America which have both artistic and commercial sensibilities. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this special film to the world."
Herrera added "We are very happy that PARQUE VIA is now part of the Fortissimo slate. It deserves the very best in bringing it to an international audience. With Fortissimo we are standing on solid ground. They have all the tools needed to internationalize the film.”
